Safety Instructions

Most of the time we will be riding on Park Connectors. The following Do’s and Don’ts are taken from NParks website:-
Do:
-
Wear protective gear, such as a helmet, for your own safety.
-
Ride in single file.
-
Maintain a safe distance from other users.
-
Slow down and give way to other users, especially at crowded or narrow areas, and within Attention Zones (red dotted lines).
-
Remember that pedestrians have the right of way on pedestrian crossings.
-
Observe and comply with “No riding” signs, if any.
-
Keep both hands on the handlebars unless signaling. Signal in good time before you make a change in direction.

Do not:
-
Weave along the track.
-
Overtake others when approaching places such as pedestrian crossings, corners and bends.
-
Cycle/ride your device in areas where it is not permitted.

The Park Connectors are ‘shared tracks’ and are used by both cyclists and pedestrians. Sometimes there are segregated tracks and cyclists should keep to one lane (which may be on the left or the right) – this will be indicated by signage. Please note that such segregated lanes are not normally exclusive for cyclists and you will often find pedestrians there.
In general cyclists should ride on the LEFT side of the shared / segregated track (consistent with cars etc. which drive on the left side of the road in Singapore).
Overtaking is supposed to be done on the right. A polite ring of the bell can be useful to alert pedestrians / cyclists to your presence ahead of the overtaking manoeuvre.
Your guide will lead the way. Please follow in single file a safe distance behind. However please remain alert to potential hazards at all times. Your guide from time to time will slow down – when he / she does so please also slow down and be prepared to stop.
Covid-19
As at 9 September 2025, there are no specific requirements on Covid-19 issued by the Singapore Tourism Board.
General advice provided by the CDA is as follows:-
Prevention and control strategies for SARS-CoV-2 focus on reducing transmission of infectious respiratory particles (IRPs) through appropriate respiratory protection, good ventilation, and environmental hygiene.
Patients with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 should wear a surgical mask and be isolated when feasible. Good hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette should continue to be reinforced for both healthcare workers and the public.
Bike Safety
When braking apply the rear brake first and then the front brake. Gradually apply more pressure on both brakes to come to a smooth stop. Take care and do not pull on the front brake too hard – to avoid going over the handlebars.
